The idea for the IceMule™ waterproof soft cooler bags was born one hot, spring day when James Collie was taking a day-long hike with friends.
Knowing they wouldn’t be able to stop for cold drinks along the banks of the river, and unable to find a good quality hiking cooler that held real ice, James created a make-shift backpack cooler out of a daypack, double lined with plastic garbage bags. Inside, he filled it with cold drinks and sandwiches.
This seemed like a good idea until the garbage bags broke and ice water flooded down his back. A wet hiker, warm drinks and soggy food started the wheels of innovation turning. Once home, James set out to design a heavily insulated cooler bag, one that would carry real ice for long periods (without leaking) and was comfortable enough to carry on both long hikes as well as relaxing days at the beach.
Several months, dozens of prototypes and many days of field testing later, the ultimate insulated cooler bag, the IceMule Classic, was born. Now the full IceMule Coolers™ range of soft cooler bags, backpack coolers and catch fish bags are available in Australia and New Zealand to help keep all of your adventures cool!
